Sometimes people in power think they have the right to supress other people's expression of their power. They think they have the right to make decisions on how this person should be, and the way they should think. Instead of just letting the person be their own person, and recognizing that they don't have the capacity to contain this person - they give them a pill. A pill to make their genius go away, to make them forget, to make them nothing, to give themselves control.
